Course Registration Terms and Conditions

By registering for a course, you agree to the following terms and conditions:

  1. You are available on all the preferred days you have specified. You can update these until the registration deadline.
  2. It is not possible to change days of the week.
  3. It is not possible to make up a missed course evening a week later.
  4. At the course start time, you must be ready to climb. You must be changed, have removed all jewelry, etc.
  5. If you are late, you will not be able to participate in the remainder of the course. You will also be excluded from the exam.
  6. In the event of force majeure, such as illness, funerals, etc., please contact the TNO immediately. They will decide, together with the instructor, whether and how the remainder of the course can be completed.
  7. Study the theory on this website before the first day of the course. If you have any questions, please ask your instructor.
  8. Registering for a course does not guarantee participation. If oversubscribed, you may have to wait until the next time the course is offered.
  9. Admission to the course does not guarantee that you will obtain your climbing proficiency certificate.
  10. You must not have consumed any alcohol before or during the course.
  11. You must listen to and follow your instructor's instructions.
  12. It is not possible to register for a course, but not for the exam.
  13. If you have previously acquired competencies, you can register for the exam without completing the entire course. Please discuss this with an instructor beforehand.
  14. When registering for the IV course, you must have checked off routes before registering. If the IV course is taught outdoors, you must be able to smoothly toprope the three easiest routes on the outer wall. If the course is taught indoors, you must be able to smoothly toprope the three easiest concrete routes (Haren, Kamin, and Ballet) and a route in the middle roof of the studded wall. For all routes, you must be able to touch each bolt for a few seconds. An instructor can sign off the routes.
  15. After passing an exam, you have the right to request a KVB certificate from the NKBV. This isn't standard practice, so ask your examiner about it. You will be billed for the costs involved.
