Aunt Truus: stupidity in corona time

Dear Truus,

We’ve been in quarantine for a little while now and I’ve done something I never would have thought I’d do. I made a Tinder profile! What started out as a joke with my housemates quickly escalated into a huge love dilemma… I’ll start at the beginning.

It was a regular Corona night. Going out was not an option, so I had a drink with my housemates.
I’ve been single for a little while now and my housemates knew this of course, and as expected… I had to get Tinder!
At first this was all fun and games. The weird profiles were hilarious (guys your fish is NOT sexy).
but then I saw HIM. My “TSAC crush” that I’ve been wanting to climb on for half a year already.

Of course I was curious if he’d like me, so I swiped him to the right.
And WOW, He sent me a Superlike! I was so happy, but then I realised that we matched on tinder!
This realisation was followed by a period of pure panic. With all my might I tried to have a normal conversation with him, but then I made the critical mistake… a mistake that would mark the rest of my Corona days. High off my own adrenaline, I told him that we weren’t a real match. That I liked him as a joke because I knew him. From then on my Corona days were clouded by a sense of regret. How can I get out of the friendzone that I created myself!

Help this female TSAC’er!

Dear anonymous TSAC’er,

First of all I understand the reaction, I have also had projects in the past. The crux is always the scariest part, but you will only get through this if you take action! But take it easy, call him "accidentally" (super quarantine Friendly) or send him a message. You have to heat the water before you put the tea in it. When the conversation gets hot enough it will start to bubble up, so be patient and invite him over for a Perlenbacher strong. It might get steamy. As long as you don't forget to perform the partner check before climbing!

Yours sincerely,

Truus
