New coronameasures

Hi everyone,

As everybody knows the corona regulations have sharpened again which means no (sport)activities after 17:00. This means we can not climb on our climbing walls in the sportscentre within the regular times anymore. Therefore all hall evenings (zaalavonden), courses and training are CANCELLED.

What you can do, if you don't want to sit still completely, is pick up the keys at the front desk of the sportscentre for the spray(/boulder) wall in SC2 (key 102) during the day and make up your own workout and boulders! Note: you need to be with at least two persons, only TSAC members can use this wall and your corona pass/QR code will be checked.

We are looking into other options so we can train on other times. We'll keep you updated.

Stay safe and strong. Hope to see you soon again.

Board interest drinks - Will you become candidate board 43?

Hello everyone,

Although the constitution drink has not even taken place yet, board 42 ('vo) is now well over halfway through their board year. It is therefore high time to look for worthy successors to form candidate board 43. As befits a student association, this search is accompanied by a number of drinks. And not just any drink, but BOARD INTEREST DRINKS (in short: BID).

SO, if you want to manage our epic association in the coming year, come to interest drink 1 (BID 1) or BID 2 on Monday November 8 (or both of course!). Both drinks are completely without obligation, so even if you are still unsure whether becoming a board member is something for you, you can just come and have a look. We will give a short presentation on what it is like to be part of the board and of course there will also be the opportunity to ask questions. But above all, it is of course also just a pleasant evening with the current board and some board members from previous boards! BID 1 starts at about nine o'clock in the sports canteen and BID 2 starts at eight o'clock also in the sports canteen. If you are interested, please let the board know!

See you there!

Zaalwachten on Thursday

Starting next week, there will also be a zaalwacht every Thursday at the zaalavond! So every Monday and Thursday everyone (with toprope) is welcome to climb in SC3 from 21:00 to 23:00. On Wednesdays we also have the hall, but there is no zaalwacht, so only everyone with IV or higher can climb. I hope to see you all soon at a zaalavond!

Laddercompetition!!

The Laddercompetition is almost starting again! This is an annual competition where you compete in a team to earn as many points as possible. This year it will start on November 1th and end November 18th, after which the winner will be announced during a fun drink. This means that this year you have 3 weeks to climb as many routes as you can with your team.

You can enroll by clicking on "subscribe" under "Laddercompetition" on the right. Here you can fill in your name and climbing grade. Then based on this information fair teams will be made by the AcCie.

The enrollment deadline is Sunday 31th of October, so don't forget to enroll!

For the people who have never heard of the Laddercompetition:

The Laddercompetion is a competition that takes place every year. You try to earn as many points with your team as possible. You earn these points by climbing routes in the zaal. You earn extra points if your whole team climbs a route or if you bake a cake for everyone. Your team will exist of climbers with different climbing grades: beginners, experts and everything in between. You will fill in the routes you climbed in the system at the TSAC website. If you've already climbed a route, you'll have to climb them one more time to make them count in the period of the ladder. The team that ends up with the most points wins (and gets a prize).

Before the ladder begins, another email containing a more detailed explanation will be sent. So don't worry if you don't fully understand yet. Sign up and we will place you in a team.

For any questions feel free to contact the Accie.

Working group on material regulations

Hi all,

At the last HAV it was decided to set up a working group to review the material rules and borrow policy. This with the reason that the most recent document on the subject was from 2010, so the way things are going now is not fixed anywhere. There are also some points that need to be considered, such as the role of the faccie in making decisions about what to buy, as this concerns a large part of the assets of TSAC and about how the summer lending can possibly be improved.

Please send a comment to this email if you would like to participate in this working group. This way you can help us create a new rulebook which will help us a lot. No need to have any status for this, everyone is welcome! If you do not want to join the working group but you do want to say something about this you can always send me an email.

Kind regards!

Marije Linders

October 12 we are going to jump the trampoline with the beginners and Truusjes at Krazy Kangaroo and on October 19 there will be a campfire evening with of course Perlenbacher.

Technique 1 in the Cube!!!

Hi all,
Normally we have a final training in the Cube at the end of technique 1. This year we couldn't because the Cube was still closed, but finally we can! This training is only for people who followed Technique 1 last period. We have a limited number of places because the Cube still works with a limit, so sign up as soon as the sheet opens! If the training is full, put yourself on reserve and we will try to reserve more places. The training is Wednesday at 21:00, and you pay your own entrance. Please make an account on www.letscube.nl beforehand, and read the (corona) rules.
Kisses, the T1 trainers

Alpine Base Camp

This summer there will be another TSAC ABK! This is a week where the TSAC is on a campsite in the alps and you can do all kinds of epic things yourself. TSAC will only take care of the camping, so you will have to bring your own stuff, and there will be no instruction. From the TSAC there is a 350 euro budget for the ABK, which will be used to pay (part of) your accommodation costs.

As you have already read in the newsletter, the location this year is Argentière, France, near the legendary Chamonix. For the period of 23 July to 1 August we have reserved places on the Camping des Montets

If you plan to come, please register via the Google Form. The dates you fill in are not binding, but  give us an indication of how many people will be present.

We have reserved 25 places on the campsite. Therefore we ask you to fill in the form before Monday 14 June. If it turns out that more people want to go to the ABK, we will do our best to reserve extra places.

It is still uncertain what the situation around Corona will be at the time of the ABK. As you can understand, the ABK will not take place in case of an orange or red travel advice.

Hope to see you in the Alps!

Marije, Marten and Stijn

P.S. Do you want to keep informed about the plans of other TSACers or make some arrangements around the TSAC ABK yourself? Join this Whatsapp group.

Truus hype!!

As of tomorrow (19-05), thanks to the relaxation of the coronation measures, we can finally climb inside again! This means that every Tuesday and Thursday there will be ‘zaalavonden’ again from 21.00-23.00 in SC3. There is a maximum of 16 people. Besides that, the technique training will be indoors again with a maximum of 8 people at the same time. Registration is still done via the spreadsheet. The times of the training sessions have been changed, so be sure to check them!

When climbing, you need to keep 1,5m distance at all times and you'll be climbing in the same duo the whole evening (for both zaalavond and training). A facemask should also be worn when not hanging on the wall. Before climbing, check the corona page and the protocol that is there and in your mail.

See you soon at a training, indoor evening or at the outside wall!

We can climb again!!!

Dear TSAC member,

Because the easing of the corona measures, we can (finally!) start climbing on our outdoor facilities again. The sports centre has granted us timeslots in which we can have corona-proof training on the outdoor bouldering wall. Because there is a maximum of 14 people per training and we can only train in set groups, it is important that we know when everybody wants to train. Therefore, please fill out the form in the email before wednesday the 3rd of March 11:00h. Based on your availability you will be assigned a training group and time. Then, you can register for your training group via the spreadsheet in the email

Besides technique training on the outside bouldering wall, the outside climbing wall will open as well. The wall will open in the evenings and on weekends. You can enroll via the aforementioned spreadsheet starting wednesday 14:00. Please be aware that you can only enroll if you have IV, when you have IT you can only enroll if there are 2 IV climbers and a wandwacht present. We also have permission to use the climbing wall on the day during weekdays.

Although it is wonderful that we can climb again, it is important that everyone abides by the corona rules. Please read the corona protocol attached to the email before you go climbing.

We hope to see you soon at a training or on the outside wall!

Online Training

Did you leave your motivation to train in the previous year? Are you craving to talk to someone else than your housemates? What if I told you there is a way to solve both problems at once! After 2.5 months of doing nothing it is time to pick up the training again. That's why starting next Monday, we are going to organize a weekly online training through the TSAC discord. Obviously, it's not as good as climbing. But it beats watching a 5th hour of Netflix a day.

Where: TSAC discord
When: Monday 20:00-20:30
What do you need: No equipment whatsoever, although a mat of some sort is recommended for some comfort

See you next Monday!

Are you tired of the lockdown?

Not allowed to climb anymore, to exercise anymore. To not go to pub? The lost memory of physical social contact?

Time to escape these times with an ESCAPE ROOM !!! Escape a boring evening and win great prizes!

Join us on February 18th at 8pm in the TSAC discord.
